Stephanie grew up in Gillette, Wyoming. After graduating high school, life took her on a unique and memorable journey. From Laramie to Chicago to pursue dance as a profession, later moving back west to Spearfish, South Dakota to start her family, next a quick stay in Denver, then up to Scottsbluff, Nebraska to support her husbands firefighting career. Finally, her family moved one last time, back to northeastern Wyoming to create strong roots in Sundance. Stephanie is grateful for her upbringing. Her parents instilled a strong work ethic fueled by history. Understand ones past and ancestors to mold a meaningful future.

Stephanie holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Wyoming as well as a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Chadron State College. Currently, she is working toward full licensure and is a Provisional Professional Counselor.

During Stephanie’s internship through Chadron State, she found working in Crook County School District to leave a lasting impression. To work with kids and teenagers, it was memorable to walk alongside students and see true change. Implementing mental health awareness and social skills was incredibly rewarding. Post graduation, Stephanie worked in community mental health. Here, a total shift from the schools but equally rewarding. Working with a wide range of clients with a wide range of presenting concerns, she was able to build strong connections and provide support while empowering clients to work toward “better.” Within community mental health, Stephanie worked with anxiety, depression, trauma and substance use. And through the entirety of her life’s work and journey, Stephanie has a non-judgmental stance, she warmly welcomes those from different backgrounds, sexual orientation, faith and age.

Through her studies and experience post-graduation, Stephanie believes that therapy is not “one size fits all”. However, she finds DBT, Internal Family Systems, Reality Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy to be areas she consistently pulls from. Stephanie prides herself in creating a space where all feel welcome, safe, and authentic.

Although she currently lives in a small corner of Wyoming, she is proud to be an ally of minorities, LGBTQ+, and commit to counsel from a multicultural lens. Stephanie enjoys working with kids, teens, young adults and adults into their retirement years. No matter the client, Stephanie aims to meet them where they are and foster positive growth within each session.

Stephanie is heavily rooted in the arts. She grew up painting, drawing, and dancing. She thoroughly enjoys listening to music and watching old movies with her three kids. Stephanie, no matter her age, will always be dancing, or at least watching Instagram videos of ballerinas, choreographers, and famous dance companies.

So something has been pulling inside you? Causing some level of curiosity or even distress? Time has passed and you have decided “enough is enough, I think I need some help with this.” Let me just say, I hear you, I see you. Talking to a total stranger can seem daunting and even a little weird right? I completely understand. But guess what? You taking that step to come talk with me is incredibly admirable.

From here on out, I hope to walk alongside you. I believe you have more choice and power within you than you fully realize. I meet you with empathy and understanding. With openness and creativity. I believe that when we can come together, collaborate, empower, build resilience and even at times, humor, you will be able to soar, adapt, and build your mental capacity to take on future challenges. You and I don’t always have to have the answer, but true change will occur when we seek improvement and consider widening our perspectives. My hope is when life happens, you stand strong and say, “I’ve got this.”
