Rachel Batcher

Clinical Therapist, PPC, LPC

Rachel Batcher is a compassionate, client-centered therapist who believes that therapy should provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard, understood, and supported as they navigate the challenges life brings. Her approach is grounded in the belief that every person’s experiences, relationships, and circumstances are unique, and that effective therapy should be tailored to the individual rather than follow a one-size-fits-all model.

Rachel has a particular passion for working with individuals experiencing pet grief and bereavement, including the profound and sometimes complicated grief that can follow the loss of an animal companion. She also has a special interest in supporting individuals and families navigating behavioral euthanasia, including the anticipatory grief, guilt, uncertainty, and difficult emotions that can accompany making this deeply personal decision. Rachel understands that the loss of an animal can be every bit as significant as any other major loss, and that grief surrounding animals is not always fully recognized or understood by others.

Her passion for animals extends to those who dedicate their professional lives to caring for them. Rachel is particularly interested in supporting veterinary professionals, shelter and rescue workers, animal welfare professionals, and others working in animal-care fields who may experience compassion fatigue, cumulative grief, burnout, traumatic loss, and the unique emotional demands of their work. She strives to provide a space where these professionals can step outside of their caregiver role and have room to process their own experiences.

Rachel also enjoys working with individuals navigating chronic illness, neurodivergence, anxiety, grief and loss, and life transitions. She has a particular appreciation for the experiences of individuals who may feel misunderstood or overlooked within traditional systems of care. She is also passionate about increasing access to mental health support for individuals living in rural communities, where finding specialized and accessible services can sometimes be challenging.

Rachel’s counseling style is warm, collaborative, and individualized. She draws from her training and clinical experience to meet clients where they are, adapting her approach to their needs, goals, and personal circumstances. Above all, she strives to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, compassion, and authenticity.

Whether you are grieving a beloved animal, struggling with the weight of caring for others, navigating chronic illness or neurodivergence, or simply trying to find your way through a difficult season of life, Rachel’s goal is to offer a place where you do not have to explain away your experiences or face them alone.
