Kennedy J. Terry was born in Detroit, Michigan, moved to Casper, Wyoming in 2006 where she grew up & attended college in Oklahoma City. She began her professional career in her hometown of Casper & recently relocated to Denver, Colorado.

Kennedy is currently provisionally licensed in Wyoming (PPC) & is working towards multi-state & full licensure. Kennedy has experience in private practice, elementary school, & inpatient psychiatric settings. Kennedy has experience working with children aged 5 to adults in their 80s, but Kennedy especially enjoys working with teenagers & young adults, walking with them as they navigate their rapidly changing minds, lives & the world around them.

Kennedy believes in an eclectic approach to therapy, where several modalities could aid an individual in their growth. She focuses on Psychoanalytic, Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral & Gestalt approaches to therapy.

Kennedy especially enjoys creating space for individuals a part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, BIPOC individuals, those who are developmentally or cognitively delayed, & individuals seeking faith-based approaches.

When Kennedy is not doing therapy, she can be found in the dance studio as the instructor or performer. Kennedy also enjoys spending time with her dog, Dixie & Cat Isa & exploring her new city & neighborhood. Kennedy enjoys international travel & has been to several European countries, Mexico & Canada & plans to continue adding stamps to her passport.

Message to my future clients

The process of therapy is one of mutual effort. You have already chosen & proven that you want to better yourself; that's often the hardest step; I am proud of you! Throughout the process, I want you to advocate for yourself & know that you are the expert of your own life. If something we are doing is not jiving with you, you have questions or want to take things in a different direction, I want you to let me know!

The space we create together will always remain safe, secure & confidential - it is my job to keep your secrets! Unless you tell me you will be a harm to yourself or others, I will not report these things without your prior knowledge; understand it is also my job to keep you safe.

I hope you allow yourself to be open to all that you are about to experience & learn about yourself through these processes & our time together. I am looking forward to getting to know you, learn from you & walk alongside you through life!
